This season Ulysses Perez-Martinez of Eau Claire and Soloman Miller of Berrien Springs wrestled off 4 times, splitting the series 2-2. Every match was intense, physical, and hard fought to the last second. After their first match of the year both of their head coaches mentioned that will probably be the match of the year. What stood out for these competitors wasn't just the wrestling. It was the fact that moments after stepping off the mat these two were laughing and joking like old friends. No hard feelings, no bad blood, no egos. Just two competitors that push each other. That's exactly the culture we want in this sport. Compete fiercely, respect deeply. Nothing but respect for these two young men and the way they represent their respective communities.
