On Wednesday, April 22 the Lady Beavers faced the Michigan Lutheran Titans for the first home game of the season. The Beavers had a long 9 days without a game and faced the leading team in the conference. The Lady Beavers played strong defense the first half and held the score 1-0 until a minute remained in the half. The Titans' firepower and experience on the field was too much and the Beavers fell 5-0. However, the spotlight for the night was freshman goalie Heidy Valesquez with 25 saves. She has never played this position before, and her ability to stop shots kept the game closer than the score revealed. Both teams were missing key players due to injuries and players involved in other sports.
